Satisfied with recent Soba lunch, I went for a sweet treat journey around Sanjo area. Luckily, there are recently opened dessert bar with a very high promising feedback and I rush to the place with strong excitement.
The place is rather modern with cake showcase at the front and dessert bar inside which seems to be luxurious and comfortable. I ordered one cake and their recommend menu which contain Matcha since Kyoto are famous for and then take the seat as they prepare my dessert.
The vert [Matcha + Pistachio + Tonka beans + Chocolate + Citrus junos]
Matcha glass dessert. Pour with chocolate sauce.
At first, the staff prepare a small bowl with impressive decoration of sweet which seems like a carefully decorated little garden. Then they pour warm chocolate sauce in top of the bowl as the chocolate starts melting and create another view of harmony between chocolate sauce and lower Matcha garden.
As I glance through every detail, I realized that this dessert has been carefully refined and executed to the perfection. Personally, I do not classify any dessert as perfect however, this one clearly deserved that title. Starting with a tender kick of Yuzu to start your appetite. Then sweetness of Matcha and strong flavor of chocolate blend in with crispy Pistachio and Tonka beans. Then *Poof* everything just finished just like your favorite song when you hear it the first time.
I also ordered a cake. The texture was pretty good however, The Vert was just insanely amazing. Not your day today little cake.
That’s all for my review. Personally, I would strongly recommend this place for dessert lover. I am seriously planning to subscribe myself as a Matcha lover after I tasted the Vert. See you next later and hope you have a wonderful day 😊
Here’s my short reviews about street sweets that could be easily found on the street of Zurich. One of my favorite aspect in Zurich is the availability of public chairs which I could get any awesome Gelato and conveniently hop on the chair and start enjoying yummy Gelato.
Luxemburgerli from Confiserie Sprüngli
Cripsy and melt in your mouth.
Starting with Gelato from the famous Movenpick. I selected Swiss chocolate flavor and the texture were delicate with choc chips to make things more interesting.
Chocolate gelato from Max chocolate (Globus HB)
The texture of Gelato are more thick compared to Movenpick. It also provide fresh and strong flavor of chocolate.
Gelato from 10′ dieci
This is one of the most packed chocolate Gelato I’ve ever tasted. Personally, I think it’s too thick. However, if you’re chocolate big fan I’m certain that this Gelato is a must when visit Zurich.
That’s all for this review. Personally, I think Zurich contain variety of Gelato which suits different types of chocolate lover from soft and tender to hardcore Chocodevil. See you later and hope you have a wonderful day 😊.

Switzerland are well-known for artistic skills of chocolate crafting. That’s what I had in mind when strolling in Old Town (Altstadt) part in Zurich as my I venture through many cafes and vendors. Finally, I found café Schober as outside of café were packed with people at 3 PM. That is a good sign of a good café.
I went into café and ask for the recommend menu of the café and ordered the chocolate cake with creamy chocolate fillings. Honestly, it is such a tough choice to choose between these yummy looking desserts T_T
Then I headed to second floor of the café with a classic style decoration.
The consistency of the cake is perfect. Not too dry and not too fragile. The level of sweetness and bitterness of cocoa is insanely good. Creamy filling also improves my satisfaction on cake. I enjoyed this cake till last piece of this amazing dessert.
After I finished my dessert break, I went strolling in old town and visited Kunsthaus (The Museum for Modern Art in Zurich) for “The Gates of Hell” bronze sculpture by Auguste Rodi. The bronze sculpture is a vision of the afterlife inspired by Dante’s Inferno from the “Divina Commedia”. I did spend some time to enjoy the moment around the place. Quite an amazing sculpture in my opinion.
That’s all for this review. Personally, I think the café and Kunsthaus in a good choice for Zurich old town strolling. See you later and hope you have a wonderful day 😊.
