Botejyu

As Bangkok weather progress to be hot on a sunny day as usual. My cravings for Kansai food with Teppan(Pan) skills are increasing which is a good opportunity to try out Botejyu located in Nihonmachi around Prom Phong area.

Immerse with a compact history of Botejyu to crank up some appetite.

Mixed Yakisoba with extra scallops topping – Well-balanced portion of sauce and Soba. A little crispy pork with fresh shrimp and squid. Scallops are a little too tiny though.

Ultimate Pork Okonomiyaki – A mixed of variety of pork. Satisfying texture with well executed seasoning.

Jumbo Takoyaki Sauce & Mayonaise – A jumbo size Takoyaki as claimed. Texture are fluffy and satisfying with generous amount of fresh Tako inside.

Starting my exploring with drunken cat figure in the alley. I don’t know what to expect from this alley in Dotonbori. However, I press on to find local Okonomiyaki place as recommended from locals.

The place is filled with people chatting and having a good time. I felt like this is a kind of place for hanging out after a long day. Then I ordered Beef tendon + Green onions + Konyaku and added pork and soba noodles.

As I sit in the counter and enjoying cooking show, I found it rather difficult to control myself in front of these gorgeous looking Okonomiyaki.

Finally, my menu has arrived! The texture of flour is well-blended and not too coarse. Fresh ingredient also supports the Okonomiyaki for a delicious menu. Especially beef tendon, I would order extra beef tendon as a la carte if they have it.

Established in 1688, Misoka-an are located in Sanjo area of Kyoto. Previously as merchant’s home with central courtyard and small rooms. As I visited the place, my first impression was tranquility and serene feeling. This place holds one of the most well-established environment in my heart.

Recommended menu is Hokouro which is one type of Nabe. However, I visited the place alone and serve only 2 persons portion which I ended up with Tempura Soba.

The place is so calm and relaxing. I would recommend this place since the ambiance is so well worth visiting.

The size of the bowl could be classified as small bowl in my standard. Tempura flour are not crazy light and could soak up some delicious broth from Soba which is very enjoyable for this bowl. Soba texture are smooth and delicious. Overall, this is one of the most satisfying Soba I have ever had with tranquility moment of the restaurant.
