Aree and Saphankhwai area has always been an unique and vibrant with new and exciting place popping up when you are least expected. Most of the places claim themselves as a friendly ambiance like your friends house still, it is quite rare to finally find a truly comfortable restaurant with amazing dishes.

To be honest, I am quite excited to visited Place after reviewing their menu with their exquisite ingredients combined with affordable prices. So I just went for a visit as they proceed in their third month of openings. Place are located in Inthramara Soi 4 which is quite a rare sight for these area. There are only around 8 seats at the moment so I strongly recommend booking before visiting to avoid any disappointment.

Starting with their fine dining ambiance, staff are friendly and truly knowledgeable about their menu. Their special mocktail and dishes are just a waves of exciting information from fresh techniques to combination of such curious taste like sweetness from Chrysanthemum with sour and acidity of orange juice. This just getting me too exhilarated.

Starting with Green & Balsamic with cherry tomatoes, Fresh and bitter free green salad with not too overpowered balsamic. I personally like a cherry tomatoes with a little bit of salted flavor just to kick start the full meal.

Black Truffle Carbonara are just beautifully presented. The aroma of Truffle and portion are just insanely unbelievable. As contrast to widely too creamy and too salty Carbonara, this dish was perfected to balanced seasoning and texture. Also, plus side on crispy yet not sticky Bacon on top. As they are having promotion of 50% off of this dish. The final price came out as 260 THB which is around 8.3 USD or 870 JPY. My hands are still shaking as of now due to the concept of how good this deal are lol.

A5 Tajima Wagyu (100 g) garlic fried rice, pickled shallot, crispy garlic and chives. First of all Tajima Wagyu are just extremely satisfying. I just wish they slice it in a longer portion though. Well-round fried rice with a plus of chives and pickled shallot.

Overall, I would say that Place are quite a gem around this area and I would personally revisit this place again really soon before it became more well-known are became more difficult to book a table. Last mention of the atmosphere, totally love it how friendly the owner (Khun Nam) and staffs are. Two thumbs up for Place!

Thailand Tatler Best Restaurants Award 2019

Ever visited restaurant in Thailand and stumbled upon a Thailand best restaurant award? I have been asking those questions for many years and wondering upon the ceremony origin and where the event take place. This year (24th April 2019) I have an opportunity to participate in the event and personally purchased the ticket then got excited before the arrival day.

The event takes place at Zen event on 8th floor. As I was walking into the event, tremendous mouth-watering scent are around with top-tier restaurant presenting their most attractive menu without holding back.

Starting out with Akira Back which have been going strong since last year. Presenting spicy salmon with crispy shell taco packs full flavors and crispiness, Eryngii pizza and custard cake in a bite size. I would say that all of menu are exceptionally impressive.

Eryngii pizza & white truffle oil are amusingly fragrant with soft and tender pizza bread.  Custard cake are soft with precise appropriate texture of chewiness. 

Osha as beautifully presented Thai fusion food showcasing refreshing crab & Ikura crispy rolls, curry paste bite size pastry and spicy Thai salad on crispy rice cracker packing full punch of spiciness with insane herb volume in one tiny bite.

Urbani Truffle Bar & Restaurant coming strong  with truffles scent (literally) Presenting sliced truffle on veal and sliced truffle on caviar and crispy bread.  Both of menu are best suited for intense truffle experience.

Then I proceed to follow a mouthwatering trace of scent to Rossini’s from Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit as contemporary Italian cuisine. And what is better than signature dish perfectly match with the name of your restaurant to showcase your culinary skill.

Pan seared Foie Gras, Tender Veal and baked potatoes. The combination of flavor are amazing with tenderness of veal, strong flavor from Foie Gras and potatoes sweetness.

Tiramisu with smooth and soft texture melted in my mouth with amazing speed.

Taking a break with Johnny Walker gold label reserve with apple juice and soda.

Elements from Okura prestige enchanted visitors with unique sizzling scallops cooking smell. It is a fragrant I could never forget which bring out my nostalgia when living in Hokkaido and Scallops are one of my favorite meal.

Shrimp Shu Mai from LIU (Conrad Bangkok) packs a satisfying touch with Peking duck rolls. I personally felt that the rolls are quite difficult hold and eat gracefully haha.

Taking a change of pace to the most crowded refreshment booth in the event. Tanqueray managed to showcase mocktail of gin, flower blossom syrup, aloe vera juice, lime juice and sparkling water in a fancy cup.

Alexander German eatery have been popping up in my radar for some time. Finally got a chance to try out their roast pork with mashed potatoes.

Vertigo from Banyan tree presenting vivid menu with interesting flavor presentation.

As one of the most renowned Thai restaurant around. Blue elephant pan seared Foie Gras texture and seasoning does not leave any room for disappointment. The texture are perfectly cooked with balanced seasoning.

Jump up to smooth and rich in flavor Singleton whisky.

Rib room & Bar with finally some beef with Australian Sirloin with Béarnaise sauce. The texture of steak are just spot with well-balanced Béarnaise sauce.

Pure luck flies under radar with Kombucha (Fermented infused tea). I have tried out “Better than Cola” the drink are quite refreshing and provide decent amount for acid for digestion.  

Yao from JW Marriott as recently opened Chic Chinese Cuisine with a playful Noodles show for a wow factor.

Medici from Hotel Muse Bangkok appear with an eye-catching menu Jelly seafood bite, Fried Lasagna and meringue. I personally love the Fried Lasagna, it was spot on and full of surprise. You can see the unmelted cheese and tomatoes which normally gave a plain texture on crispy base however, the overall experience came out as excellent first impression.

Overall, I personally think that the event are an exceptional opportunity to discover and learn more about top-tier restaurant in Bangkok. The food and refreshment are amazing and participating restaurant does not even hold back on the try out menu. Would love to visit many places in the future to try out their full menu.

Sathorn area are packed with numerous office building as one of the biggest growing financial district in Bangkok. With that large quantity of people working around Sathorn create lots of quality cuisine to discover. OLIO express simple and elegant Italian food with casual environment.

Chicken OLIO

Fried chicken with sweet & sour sauce. At first, I have my doubt that the chicken could be too hard & sweet like as many of the place. The chicken came out as a perfect appetizer to prepare me for pasta & pizza. Chicken texture are crispy outside and soft inside. Seasoning of sweet & sour are well-balanced. Would definitely order again when I got the chance.

LINGUINE AGLIO E “OLIO” PEPERONCINO With Bacon

Linguine are prepped at a perfect texture. Bacon size are thick which reminds me of popular thick bacon size when I’m in Japan. Olive oil proportion are just right and make Linguine not too oily. Topped with balanced seasoning, this menu just became one of the best pasta I’ve had in Bangkok.

Well-prepped Penne texture. The sauce leans toward tomato flavor with olive and anchovy.

TOM YUM Seafood Black Pizza

A touch of Tom Yum spice flavor. Still, the spiciness are still far away for real Tom Yum though. Pizza texture are thin & crispy with sweetness from shrimp, squid and lime sourness. An interesting choice for a fusion menu.

Cheese Cake with raspberry sauce

Smooth cheesecake texture and moderate sourness from raspberry. Added with crunchiness from surrounding bits as an amazing dessert.
