Nowhere [n.] /ˈnoʊwər/ or /ˈnaʊhɪə/
Every once in a while, I discover new place with lots of exotic view and fresh inspiration. For this week, Nowhere is the place that I fell in love at first glance. The decoration are spot on with infinite stairs that defines “journey” as a fundamental part of life.
I arrived around 5 pm. Natural light at that moment gave out some warm and tranquility feeling. On contrary to the location in Ekkamai which is one of the most busiest area in Bangkok, the place are perfect for hanging out after a long day.
Outdoor tables with rooftop views on Ekkamai area.
Let’s get started with some amazing cuisine Nowhere has to offer.
Watermelon Salad – Inspired by Thai traditional “Tang Mo Pla Haeng” Tossed watermelons served with fresh baby spinach, topped with Feta cheese and Bonito flakes, and seasoned with Sumac vinaigrette to convey Umami flavor.
Watermelon packs a fresh and cool punch with crunchy texture supported with mild Feta cheese flavor and distinct flavored bonito flakes. Fresh baby spinach and Sumac vinaigrette also packs balanced flavor and brings harmony to the dish.
Tumeric chicken – Marinated chicken wings served with deep-fried tumeric, & herbs and spicy apple salad (Twisted from famous fried chicken at pattaya beach)
At first I thought that the chicken would be dry & crispy like most of Tumeric chicken in Thailand. The texture seems to be more like buffalo wings. Seasoning are so well-developed with sweet, mild spicy and a little bit of sour. One of the best Tumeric chicken I ever had.
Fried Sardinella – Served with Yuzu Togarashi, horseradish mayo and lemon.
First time trying fried Sardinella. The fish could be eaten whole without and small bones at all. Texture are kind of crispy with a twist of lemon and mayo defines as most suitable for drinking snack.
Japanese Carnitas Pizza – Japanese pork Canitas, asparagus, miso tomato sauce, leek, garlic, mozzarella and parmesan. Carnitas: Mexican braised pork in hot water until tender
Twist of Mexican and Japanese food, now that’s one exciting choice. Pizza texture located on thick and soft area. Carnitas texture are just melt in my mouth with mildly sweetness flavor. Added with creamy cheesy texture. It’s one of the pizza I couldn’t have enough.
A mess of Nowhere – Meringue with dark chocolate and rum sauce served with yogurt cream and fresh strawberries. (Inspired by Eton Mess, a classic English dessert invented around 1920s at Eton College,UK)
I would say this is a “Hot mess” in positive way. Dark chocolate are partly bitter and sweet in the perfect harmony. Meringue are not too dry and compliments with melty chocolate and distinct kick from rum with sour & sweetness from strawberries.
Beautiful photos of this special restaurant! Well done.
